In the boutique fashion business, there isn’t anything more fun than discovering a label that transports you somewhere truly exotic. Setting our eyes on Spanish brand Vilagallo offered us that exact feeling - a stunning collection of summer-kissed styles that instantly whisked us far away. We sat down with the company to learn a little bit more about their sustainable, limited collections and how they inject the perfect amount of charisma into each and every design.
Tell us a bit about Vilagallo.
Vilagallo is a Spanish brand with design departments in Madrid, Spain and Piacenza, Italy. Vilagallo is stocked in over 700 boutiques worldwide and we have four of our own stores in Spain.
Each collection has a limited number of unique and unrepeatable fashion pieces that aim to bring a Mediterranean touch to every corner of the world. All the team’s efforts are focused on creating wearables that are known for their vibrant colors, patterned silks, and originality that are recognized and chosen by influential women around the world.
The spring/summer collection is so fun and vibrant. Where did the inspiration come from?
This year is all about packing your bags and coming with us for a fun-filled, warm summer around Europe. The pandemic is finally behind us and 2023 is officially the year of travel. We really wanted the collection to represent the feeling of fun - to laugh, to dance, and to enjoy life. Whether it’s a boat trip in Formentera, a dinner in Marbella, a stroll around the streets of Madrid, or a wedding in Mallorca, this season is really for feeling playful and free.
What do you want to be known for as a brand?
Meticulous attention to detail. Vilagallo’s designers Ines Villalón and Beatriz Gallo have instilled these values into that anyone who comes to be connected to the brand. Our pieces combine discreet elegance with a modern and urban twist, leaving nobody behind. While our designs are playful and fun, our materials and the construction of our garments are second to none in terms of quality.
Why do your customers love your collections?
It’s the uniqueness of the style and that each piece comes in a limited run so it’s not widely available. Vilagallo focuses on vibrant color, impeccable patterns, formidable quality of materials, and original designs, but it’s also about customers connecting with bright, playful, tropical pieces that bring joy to their wardrobes.
If you could choose one must-have piece from what we have at The Trunk Show, what would it be and why?
The lightweight cotton voile dress represents the essence of Vilagallo. Perfect for any summer outing, this dress has long sleeves which can be rolled up and a V-neck with buttons so you can adjust it to your comfort. The in-house sea print is a work of art and it is the perfect shirt dress length. This is a closet summer staple.
